Backend Developer Intern

Description

The Backend Developer Intern will assist in building, maintaining, and optimizing server-side logic, databases, and API integrations for StartupLab’s platforms. You will work with the development team to implement backend features, improve performance, troubleshoot issues, and support data flow between systems.

This internship is ideal for students who want hands-on experience in backend development, cloud technologies, and real-world system architecture. Mentorship and training will be provided throughout the program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend features and services
• Assist in designing and managing databases
• Integrate APIs and backend logic into applications
• Debug and troubleshoot server-side issues
• Support performance optimization and data handling
• Document backend processes and technical notes
• Collaborate with frontend and system analysis teams
• Participate in technical discussions and sprint activities

Educational Requirements

• Open to IT, Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or related courses
• Must be enrolled in an OJT / internship program

Experience Requirements

• Must have created at least one backend or database-related project (school or personal)
• Basic experience working with backend languages or frameworks
• Portfolio or GitHub link showing sample code
• Understanding of API requests and responses (JSON, REST)
