The Server Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of server systems and related infrastructure. This role ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems that support core organizational functions. The Server Administrator will also support the IT team in maintaining a secure and reliable network environment.
Responsibilities
- Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software.
- Network Administration: Manage and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for server and network issues.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery plans to safeguard data.
- Security Management: Implement and manage security measures to protect servers and data.
- System Upgrades and Maintenance: Plan and perform system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
- Project Management: Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects.
Educational Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Information Technology or any related field.
Experience Requirements
- Familiarity with research tools and flatforms.
- Basic understanding of server management, software and hardware is a plus.
Additional Requirements
- Stable internet connection for remote collaboration.
- Personal computer or laptop capable of running research software.
- Headphones or earphones, and a webcam for communication.
