Server Admin Intern

Description

The Server Admin Intern will assist StartupLab in managing and maintaining server environments, deployments, backups, security configurations, and monitoring system performance. You will work closely with the development and backend teams to ensure that servers remain stable, secure, and optimized.

This internship is ideal for students who want hands-on experience in server administration, Linux environments, hosting platforms, domain management, and basic DevOps tasks. Full training and supervision will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing server files, directories, and configurations
• Support deployment of updates and website/backend systems
• Monitor server performance and uptime
• Handle DNS and domain-related tasks when needed
• Perform basic security checks and updates
• Assist in setting up backups and recovery procedures
• Document server changes, issues, and configurations
• Troubleshoot basic server or hosting issues
• Coordinate with developers for deployment and environment setups

Educational Requirements

• Open to IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related programs
• Must be enrolled in an OJT / internship program

Experience Requirements

• Basic experience using Linux or command-line tools (school or personal projects)
• Familiarity with SSH or server hosting platforms
• Experience working with local servers (XAMPP, WAMP, or similar)
• No professional experience required but technical exposure is a plus
